Benzoate blueflex 705, whose main components are dipropylene glycol dibenzoate (DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL DIBENZOATE, CAS NO.: 27138-31-4) and diethylene glycol dibenzoate (DIETHYLENE GLYCOL DIBENZOATE, CAS NO.: 120-55-8), has the appearance of light yellow oily transparent liquid. Relative molecular weight 320, density 1.14-1.15 (25℃), freezing point <16, boiling point 238℃ (5mmHg), refractive index 1.535, flash point >149 (Taig closed cup), viscosity 90 cps (Brookfield, 25℃), water solubility: 0.42%, water absorption: 1.35%. It uses dipropylene glycol, diethylene glycol and benzoic acid as the main raw materials, and esterification is carried out under the action of a catalyst. When the acid value reaches a certain requirement, the esterification reaction is stopped, and the neutralization and water washing process is carried out after cooling. After washing, vacuum distillation is carried out to distill off excess water and water-carrying agents, and then filtered and packaged after cooling again to obtain the finished product.
About the use of benzoate blueflex 705
As an environmentally friendly plasticizer, it is mainly used in the Following industries:
- Used in water-based adhesives, including white latex, woodworking glue, plywood glue, paper packaging glue, laminating glue, cigarette glue, etc.; it has good compatibility with vinyl acetate emulsion and VAE emulsion, and can effectively reduce the glass transition temperature of the system; and can extend the open time of the system, which helps the glue to stay long enough after brushing and still have a certain wet viscosity.
- Used as the main plasticizer in polysulfide sealants, polyurethane sealants, and gap fillers;
- Used in PVC products, including toys, elastic floors, gloves, PVC dipped products, Textilene, water hoses, artificial leather, etc.
As an environmentally friendly plasticizer, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) recommended this product as a substitute for benzene plasticizers in May 2009. It does not contain any orthophthalic ingredients and can be used as a main plasticizer. From abroad to domestically, it has more than 30 years of application and research data proving that this type of product is low in toxicity, non-mutagenic, non-carcinogenic, and easily biodegradable.
